2. Managing Resources

Resources are the one of the most important things in Galaxy Empire as they are the main ingredient enabling you to construct buildings, research technologies and are required in your fleet proliferation. You should note however that there are several ways to gather main resources (metal, crystal, gas). In the beginning your will solely rely on mines, however your demand will slowly out scale your mine production. But worry not, this guide will assure how to get around that.

Metal Crystal Gas

Main Source (Neb Runs):
Neb Runs, is a strategy to gather many resources from a Mysterious Nebula. Remember that they are always located on the 16th coordinate in any system, for example [3:232:16]. Travelling time roughly takes around 30 minutes, depending on your research.
The best strategy is to build 2001 Recyclers per planet, split these up into three fleets of 667 and send each into the Mysterious Nebula. Never send any combat ships along with it, as the risk of pirates appearing will be considerably larger.
Also take note that 667 Recyclers can score a maximum return of gathered resourced. Increasing the number of Recyclers to 4,000 guarantees you maximum resources, whereas 20,000 guarantee you a lot of ships. But to start off, 667 per fleet is good enough! Baby steps, young one!

Secondary Source (Mines):
Gathering mines from resources early on might serve to be all right. But do know that eventually, your resource demands will not even remotely be covered by what your mines will be able to output. So make sure you make use of Neb Runs. However we recommend that you already upgrade them on your primary planet, especially the Gas Mine, in order to supply your fleet with fuel!

Secondary Source (PVP):
This is probably the most fun because you get to crush (hopefully) enemy planets with your L33T fleet! Best is to find a player with many planets in one system, so you can just planet hop, to gather resources. Another option is to find players that don’t play anymore or don’t play often, they usually don’t have many defensive system. More information on this can be found in the ‘Combat Strategies’ section.

Dark Matter:
Dark Matter is an additional resource that can be used in order to speed up construction and upgrades, hire officers, buy additional resources and to trade in for Galactonites. All of these option are great, besides trading Dark Matter for basic resources.
The best way to acquire Dark Matter is through sending your Recyclers to the Mysterious Nebula. To be exact, if you send 100 Recyclers to the Nebula, you already get the maximum possible Dark Matter, which is 50. That means you can send up to 3 fleets to a Nebula per planet that you have! Don’t forget that.
The average chance of getting Dark Matter is roughly 10%, which means that if you send out 3 fleets per planet, and you have 3 planets, you get roughly 1 successful Dark Matter harvest in total, per batch. Considering that each run takes on average 30 minutes, if you do that for 3 hours you get an estimate of 300 Dark Matter. It is definitely worth it!
