1. Getting Started

Galaxy Empire Guide

Galaxy Empire is a sci-fi themed, free-to-play strategy game set in space, where your aim is to build up an empire and slowly expand across the vast galaxy. Along your journey, you will be able to construct buildings, research technologies, build up your fleet, conquer other plants, fight against players, and explore areas, among many other things.
Galaxy Empire is available on iPhone and Android powered devices, which can be downloaded directly from the AppStore and GooglePlay.

The Golden Rules:
  • Always plan your ahead. Whether you wish you construct a fleet, construct buildings or research technologies, always make sure that you plan ahead carefully how much resources you need and how many units, etc. Planning ahead can save you a lot of time and also save you much needed resources.
  • Never colonize too many planets in one system. Chances are if you do, and you get attacked by a group of fleet, your fleet will get completely wiped. Therefore it is advised that you spread out your planets accordingly.
  • Always Fleet Save. Remember to constantly send your fleets into movement when not playing, as they cannot get attacked while doing so. The worst thing that can happen is that you wake up the next morning, to realize that your fleet is destroyed and that you lost many resources.

Picking the Right server:
After you have created your account and logged in, make sure that you pick the correct universe to play in. We recommend you select a fairly populated one that is not too empty and not too full; after all you would want some action later on. Additionally make sure that the  server is available is on your device and in your language of preference.

Next Step:
We recommend that you complete these tasks, before you go through the next few steps of this guide, however if you do wish to skip them, feel free to do so. Do keep in mind that the tasks will give you a better overview of the game and will also provide you with some nice rewards!

9. Scores and Ranks

If you find yourself to be a more competitive player, this section will probably interest you very much. Here you will learn to understand how you will be able to top the leader boards. Also note that for every point you earn, your alliance gets +1 point. In Galaxy Empire, a player’s score is calculated in the following way:

Item
Points
1,000 Resources spent in buildings
+ 1
2,000 Resources spent in research
+ 2
Light Fighter
+ 4
Heavy Fighter
+ 10
Cruiser
+ 29
Battleship
+ 60
Dreadnought
+ 85
Bomber
+ 90
Destroyer
125
Interceptor
?
Rocket Launcher
+ 2
Light Laser
+ 2
Heavy Laser
+ 8
MK2 Cannon
+ 37
Ion Cannon
+ 18
Plasma Cannon
?
Small Shield
+ 20
Large Shield
+ 100

Important Information:
Here come the important part, guys! Note that your player points determine who you can and cannot attack. You may only allow to attack players within a certain point range. And also watch out when you reach the top of the ranks, if you get completely wiped, you rank still remains, meaning that enemies can still continue to farm you all day long. So make sure you have an alliance to back you up, or you have no choice but to relocate. So before you reach high on the shelves, make sure you know what you can get yourself into! Best of luck, friends! See you at the top, hopefully!

7. Guide to Moons

Moons share the same coordinates with their respective planet and serves as an “add-on”. They come with random sizes varying from 20 – 50. In order to get a moon on one of your planets, a battle needs to take place; for every 400,000 debris you get +1% chance to create a moon. The chance is capped at 20% with 800,000,000 debris.
It is vital to have a few moon when you expand your planets across systems, as you can easily warp your fleet across moon with the use of the Wormhole Generator. Additionally, you can build specific buildings on your moon that give you a certain advantage, such as the EU-X Radar Array, which allows you to scan incoming fleets very precisely (ETA, size, etc.)

This table lets you see what you need to have a moon created:

Also remember that the enemy causalities also count towards the total debris field. Here are some tips on what units you should and should not build on the moon:

Moonbase:
Regard this as you moon headquarters. Yes it’s necessary to keep on upgrading this, as for every level you get 3 more buildings slots for you to use! Upgrade this as and when you need more space. Recommended!

EU-X Radar Array:
Very important. This Radar lets you scan planets and their fleets, whereby ever level expands the scanning radius by 3 system. Even more importantly, you can see an enemy fleet’s size and targeted location. Recommended!

Wormhole Generator:
If you have 2 Wormhole Generators on 2 moons, you can warp you fleets in between them. Be careful though, after ever time its being used, it needs to recharge itself. High levels will achieve shorter warp travelling times. Recommended!

Pioneer Lab:
This building allows you to benefit from shorter construction times for the buildings on your moon. So do build one if you can spare the extra resources. If Possible!

Shipyard:
Not a good idea to build one on the moon, as you already have a shipyard on your planet, and secondly because it does not receive the benefits from the Nanite Factory. Not Recommended!

8. Types of Commanders

Commanders can be purchased via Dark Matter or in-game credits in the Space Store. There are a total of 5 commanders that can be hired, each of them giving you certain benefits. In the following section we will explain which commanders will provide you with what benefits for a certain amount of time.

Commander Commander:
Allows you to build or upgrade 2 buildings at the same time. Additionally, it reduces construction and upgrade time by 10%. This is very useful! Think about it, you can basically build twice as much, so your queue time is effectively halved! Recommended!

Technocrat Technocrat:
She allows increase your Espionage levels by 2 and also reduces research time by 25%. This can be quite beneficial if you wish to invest a lot of resources into researching! Recommended!

Admiral Admiral:
The Admiral increases your overall fleet size by 2 reduces defence unit construction time by 10%. While the bonus on the fleet size is nice, the latter bonus is not as good as it sounds.

Geologist Geologist:
This guy increases your overall resource production by 10%. We don’t this commander is good choice, as most of your resource gathering later on will depend of PVP and Neb Runs. However if you choose to mine on planets as your main income, you may want to consider this!

Engineer Engineer:
After being defeated, the engineer will guarantee that you keep 50% of your defensive units. Additionally, it also adds to 10% of nuclear power production. Our advise, skip this!

As you can see, we really recommend that if you decide to spend some Dark Matter or in-game Credits for thee commanders make sure that you know what you need. Please remember that you are just hiring them for a given time, they are not permanent! Enjoy!

6. Guide to Planets

Planets are one of the most important things to know about in Galaxy Empire. This section will teach you what you need to know about planets and how to colonize them. Note than planets that are controlled by other players cannot be conquered or destroyed, however you may attack them and scavenge them for resources. Uncontrolled planets may be colonized with the use of a colony ship.
Eventually you home planet won’t be enough to serve you anymore and you may need to expand. As already said, we recommend that you find planet spread across other system, don’t cluster them, as people just planet hop you until you are depleted. Also, here are some useful tips you should know:
  • Home planet sizes are always 178
  • Planet size changed randomly every time you colonize a planet (60 – 220)
  • Biggest planets can be found in galaxy 3, 4, 5 and 6
  • If you find a good player to farm, colonize a planet near to him

Colonizing Tips:
A good strategy is to strategically plan which planets you want to colonize, and remember to spread them throughout other systems. We recommend that you should delete planets that are smaller than 200, as you won’t get enough space to build on. A special technique is to send 3 – 4 colony ships to for colonization at the same time, the first one with 100% speed, the second with 90%, the third with 80% and if you send a fourth with 70%. This way, when the first one arrives and you get a planet size that is too small, delete it and the second ship will arrive shortly after. If you get a good size, then the ships on route back to your planet.
